Kennewick police are investigating a shooting at a Seventh Avenue party on Tuesday early that left one person with a gunshot wound to the arm. Around 3 a.m., a party in the 2900 block of West Seventh Avenue had garnered police attention. Kennewick police Lt. Jason Kiel said individuals complained about the loudness on Tuesday. Several rounds were then fired at 5:15 a.m.
“An exchange of gunfire is suspected,” according to a morning news release, “although the scene is still being investigated for evidence.” According to authorities, the injured woman, who is believed to be in her twenties, was transferred to a local hospital and is likely to live.
It’s unknown whether the woman was involved in the shooting or what triggered the violence at this time. Because locals had been involved in past investigations, police said they were familiar with the home in the community immediately west of Highway 395.
