March Madness 2022: Our experts have re-set their NCAA Tournament brackets with updated Sweet 16 predictions.

The last perfect bracket submitted for the CBS Sports Men’s Bracket Challenge this season did not even make it past the first round. In fact, there were still a few first-round games left on Friday when the last bracket that was still alive died with Villanova’s win over Delaware.

March Madness is humbling for sports fans, and the unpredictability contributes to the fun of office pools and online fan competitions. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been watching college basketball all season and memorized each team’s efficiency margins; by Friday of the tournament’s first weekend, your bracket might look worse than the one your first-grader filled out based on the colors of the teams involved.

Even our seasoned team of during the first weekend of the Big Dance, CBS Sports writers and analysts suffered some heartbreaking defeats. Only Chip Patterson, who spends more time covering college football than college basketball, has all four of his Final Four teams still alive as the Sweet 16 begins on Thursday.
